Scott Hafner & the Hafner family
The Hafner Family is one of many families who have made a multigenerational commitment to Sonoma Land Trust. Mary and Dick Hafner became grape farmers in Alexander Valley in 1967. Mary served on the board of the Land Trust for 14 years, bringing experience as a fundraiser and community volunteer. Meanwhile, Dick leveraged his editorial and journalism expertise to support the Land Trust.
Today, their son, Scott Hafner, chairs the board and his husband Bill is his constant supporter. The Hafner family’s leadership has been invaluable. “My parents would be so pleased with SLT’s impact now, and for generations to come.”
Becoming a Force for Nature
Individuals are at the heart of this campaign, with more than 5,661 people making annual contributions, special gifts and volunteering their time. Our board members donate thousands of hours of their time to making this campaign a success.
This group as well as our Alumni Board Council (those who have served on our board throughout our 49 years) have committed approximately $25.6 million during the campaign, in the form of annual gifts, special gifts, and planned gift intentions. What tremendous leadership and stewards of our local communities!
