What Is an Anchor Preserve?
Our anchor preserves are central to our stewardship and conservation activities. Located in different regions of the county, each one provides a place to “anchor” our stewardship activities and allow people to engage with nature. Our anchor preserves are where we conduct restoration activities, demonstrate exemplary land stewardship and sustainable agricultural practices, conduct research and work collaboratively with our conservation partners. Our anchor preserves are places for people to learn about plants and animals, go for hikes, join in volunteer workdays and help restore the land.
