In this talk, Beatriz will address the intersection of climate change, health, and social equity, highlighting successful local strategies for empowering equity priority communities and fostering sustainable urban environments.
Beatriz Guerrero Auna is a trailblazing health and equity planner focused on community engagement, environmental justice, and climate change. She is currently City of Richmond’s Transformative Climate Communities Project Coordinator. Beatriz’s passion is cementing her as a leading voice in environmental justice in the Bay Area. She earned her Master in City Planning from University of California, Berkeley, with a concentration in environmental planning and healthy cities. Ms. Guerrero Auna has focused on policy development, implementation, and evaluation to achieve health equity. She has worked for local and federal governments in Mexico and the United States, including Mexico City and Santa Rosa, California.
