ON THE LAND PROGRAM
Connecting People With Nature
Sonoma Land Trust’s On the Land program connects people to our protected lands through educational, recreational and interpretive experiences. Its goal is to engage a broad cross-section of the local community through interactive programs that encourage a conservation ethic and a love of the natural world.
Language of the Land
This monthly presentation series explores the intersection of conservation and social issues to build community awareness and mutual learning around environmental challenges and solutions.
Guided Virtual Hikes
These immersive experiences of remote and environmentally sensitive habitats serve as a doorway for access for everyone, including those experiencing mobility issues, without the environmental impacts of bringing large groups to these locations.
On the Land Outings
In-person hikes and outings build connection with nature, outdoor skills and ecological knowledge, and provide opportunities for equitable access to lands protected by Sonoma Land Trust.
Familias al Aire Libre / Families Outdoors
This bilingual family program features nature activities that are inclusive and fun for families with children of all ages. Each month features a different park or preserve to explore the many wonders of nature in Sonoma County.
Community Group Outings
We offer special tours of our nature preserves for community groups, in English or Spanish, virtual or in-person. If you are part of a community group that is interested in scheduling a hike, please contact hikes@sonomalandtrust.org
