Caminata entre las Secuoyas / A Walk Amongst the Redwoods 

Únase a Sonoma Land Trust y Ag+ Open Space para visitar la nueva adición al Parque Regional y Distrito de Espacios Abiertos Monte Rio Redwoods. El parque se amplió recientemente por 1,517 acres gracias a una colaboración liderada por Save the Redwoods League entre los Parques Regionales del Condado de Sonoma, Sonoma Ag+ Open Space, California Wildlife Conservation Board y Sonoma Land Trust. La nueva adición al Parque Regional Monte Rio Redwoods conecta más de 22,000 acres de tierra protegida. Venga y disfrute del bosque de secuoyas para comprender en profundidad este logro monumental para la conservación. Esta excursión se realizará en español y es apta para todas las edades.

Join Sonoma Land Trust and Ag+ Open Space to visit the new addition to the Monte Rio Redwoods Regional Park and Open Space District. The park was recently expanded by 1,517 acres thanks to a collaboration led by Save the Redwoods League between Sonoma County Regional Parks, Sonoma Ag+ Open Space, the CA Wildlife Conservation Board and Sonoma Land Trust. The new addition to the Monte Rio Redwood Regional Park connects more than 22,000 acres of protected land. Come and experience the redwood forest to gain a deep sense of this monumental achievement for conservation. This outing will be Spanish forward and all ages are welcome.

Familias al Aire Libre: Hood Mountain Regional Park

Acompañe a Sonoma Land Trust para el paseo mensual llamado Familias al Aire Libre. Estos paseos son dirigidos en español, hay transportación disponible, son gratuitos, y diseñados con actividades para toda la familia – padres, abuelitos, hijos e hijas chicos y grandes – y ocurren cada cuarto sábado del mes. Este mes vamos a Hood Mountain Regional Park para explorar donde nace el arroyo de Santa Rosa. Si hace calor, va a ver oportunidad para entrar al arroyo para refrescarse.

Join Sonoma Land Trust for its monthly outing called Familias al Aire Libre. These outings are led in Spanish, transportation is available, they are free, and they are designed with activities for the whole family – parents, grandparents, children, and grandchildren – and take place on the fourth Saturday of every month. This month we are going to Hood Mountain Regional Park to explore the source of the Santa Rosa Creek. If it is hot, there will be an opportunity to go into the creek to cool off.

Pole Mountain Hike

Join Sonoma Land Trust and Sonoma County Ag + Open Space for a guided hike up the north side of Pole Mountain. We’ll learn about the history of fire and forest management as we hike through the forest of the Little Black Mountain Preserve to reach the 2,204-foot summit for amazing 360-degree views of the Sonoma Coast and beyond. This is a 6-mile round-trip hike with a 1,000-foot elevation gain. 

Level: Strenuous

Acompañe a Sonoma Land Trust y a Sonoma County Ag + Open Space en una excursión guiada por la cara norte de Pole Mountain. Caminaremos por el bosque de la Reserva de Little Black Mountain hasta llegar a la cima de 2,204 pies para disfrutar de increíbles vistas de 360 grados de la costa de Sonoma y más allá. Es una caminata de 6 millas con 1,000 pies de ganancia en elevación.

Nivel: Arduo

Bay Day: Sears Point Marsh Walk

Celebrate Bay Day with Sonoma Land Trust and Ag + Open Space for a leisurely walk on the Dickson Trail at the San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge. We’ll observe the current tidal marsh restoration area at the former Dickson Ranch in comparison to the older tidal marsh restoration at the Sonoma Baylands as we walk along the levee trail that separates them.   

Level: Gentle

Celebra Bay Day con Sonoma Land Trust y Ag + Open Space en un paseo tranquilo por el sendero Dickson en el Refugio Nacional de Vida Silvestre de la Bahía de San Pablo. Observaremos la zona actual de restauración de marismas mareales en el antiguo rancho Dickson en comparación con la restauración de marismas mareales más antigua en Sonoma Baylands mientras caminamos por el sendero del dique que las separa.

Yoga in Nature / Yoga en la Naturaleza

You’re invited to enjoy more calm, more ease and more well-being of body, breath and mind during this 1 hr. session. This yoga practice will be translated into Spanish, occur on the newly acquired Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway, and childcare will also be provided. Previous yoga posture or meditation experience helpful but not necessary. 

The definition of Yoga is “not identifying with the fluctuations of the mind.” (Yoga Sutra 1.2) 

Lesli decided to study, practice and share the gift of Yoga after experiencing–among many other benefits–more calm, clarity, compassion and courage. While working as a physical therapist, her yoga studies started in 1999 and includes completing Viniyoga Therapist training in 2012 and Trauma-informed Resilience Training in 2019. Also a Certified California Naturalist Lesli is passionate about being in nature, living in her true nature, and helping others find more ease, joy and resilience in life. She offers an integrative and empowering approach to Yoga practice that supports healing and wellness. She enjoys tending her garden, appreciating local and wild foods, admiring wildflowers and enjoying birdsong on trails and sharing adventures with her husband in Santa Rosa. 

Te invitamos a disfrutar de más calma, más tranquilidad y más bienestar físico, respiratorio y mental durante esta sesión de una hora. Esta práctica de yoga se traducirá al español, se llevará a cabo en la recién adquirida Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway y también se ofrecerá servicio de guardería. Es útil tener experiencia previa en posturas de yoga o meditación, pero no es necesario.

Lesli decidió estudiar, practicar y compartir el don del yoga después de experimentar, entre muchos otros beneficios, más calma, claridad, compasión y valentía. Mientras trabajaba como fisioterapeuta, comenzó sus estudios de yoga en 1999 y completó la formación de Terapeuta de Viniyoga en 2012 y Entrenamiento de resiliencia informado sobre el trauma en 2019. Lesli, que también es naturalista certificada en California, es una apasionada de la naturaleza, de vivir según su verdadera naturaleza y de ayudar a otros a encontrar más tranquilidad, alegría y resiliencia en la vida. Summit Sunday: McCormick Ranch

Join Sonoma Land Trust and amazing Sugarloaf Ridge State Parks Volunteers on a hike from Sugarloaf to Hood Mountain through the new McCormick Ranch addition. This adventurous hike is approximately 11 miles with 3,200 ft. of elevation gain!

Sharing Stories Together in Nature

Have you lived a full life and find that you have stories to share? Have you figured out a few things that you wish you knew when you were younger? Do you have life lessons that others might benefit from? Join Sonoma Land Trust on the Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway for Sharing Stories in Nature, where we’ll gather to reflect upon and share our stories together. Whether you like to talk, write, read, draw, or simply listen, we’ll have opportunities for each of us to share some of our significant moments and thoughts together.

Bring a camp chair, blanket, or cushion; a notebook and pen; water; a sunhat; and layers of clothing for variable weather. We’ll be sitting together under the lone tree at the end of Albert Drive.

Many Moons Festival
