BioBlitz at Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway

Come join a special bioblitz on the Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway that celebrates both CA Biodiversity Day and Latine Heritage Month. Participants will get the latest update regarding the new Southeast Greenway Park that will stretch from Farmers Lane to Spring Lake Regional Park. After we get an orientation on how to use iNaturalist we will wander the Greenway to document species that will be calling the new park their home. Our bioblitz will end just in time for participants to then attend the Fiesta de Independencia that occurs at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts 12–7pm. This outing with be led in Spanish and English, all ages are welcome!

Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway was protected by Ag + Open Space in 2024 for recreation and preservation of its natural resources. This event is free and made possible by Sonoma County taxpayers, who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.

We do offer a limited amount of transportation from the meeting location in Santa Rosa. Please reserve your spot in advance.
We usually will provide breakfast, lunch, and/or snacks.
Children of all ages are welcome with a parent or guardian.
This program is led in Spanish, with translation into English as needed.

There is no charge for this event, which is made possible by the voters of Sonoma County who fund the work of Ag + Open Space with a quarter-cent sales tax.
