Sell your land
Explore the benefits of selling your land to Sonoma Land Trust in support of our cause.

Ensure lasting conservation
Many of our state and local park lands in Sonoma County were once in private ownership. In some cases, the best conservation option—and the best financial outcome for a landowner—is to sell property for permanent conservation. In order to purchase land, Sonoma Land Trust must identify and secure funds from a variety of sources: local and state agencies, and private organizations and foundations. This process is not fast, but we have an excellent track record of working with our local and state partners to fund important conservation transactions.
A landowner interested in making a donation through a reduction in price increases the possibility that funding can be obtained for the transaction. This also offers potential income tax benefits to the seller, as the difference between the appraised fair market value and the sale price is considered a tax-deductible charitable contribution.
