Sonoma Land Trust believes that true community engagement means building agency and creating conservation opportunities where everyone feels welcome, heard, and empowered. Whether it’s creating a new bilingual outing, educating the next generation on conservation strategies, or participating in a cultural celebration, we incorporate our values of connection, creativity, and environmental sustainability.

Community Engagement Programs

Familias al Aire Libre

Sonoma Land Trust’s Familias al Aire Libre outings are guided hikes designed for bilingual families. By removing barriers like language, fees and transportation, we are advancing our commitment to equitable access to nature for families in our region.

Youth programs

Through youth development programs that encourage scientific discovery, lead to a love of nature, and bring a conservation ethic to new generations, Sonoma Land Trust offers inclusive, hands-on experiences that connect youth participants to Sonoma County’s landscapes. These opportunities aim to educate, inspire, and foster the next generation of conservationists.

Child in the Wild

Sonoma Land Trust’s Child in the Wild / Niños en la Naturaleza is a free, family-friendly outdoor celebration designed to raise awareness of and community support for the future Santa Rosa Southeast Greenway park—featuring interactive nature-themed booths, live multicultural performances, bounce houses, and activities that connect children and families with nature and the park-planning process.
