Camp 3 is a critically important 1,450-acre oat hay farm in the heart of the Sonoma Creek Baylands in unincorporated Sonoma County. Like many of the diked baylands in the region, the property has been farmed since the late 19th century. Camp 3 provides Sonoma Land Trust with the potential to connect over 9,000 acres of restored tidal wetlands, providing resilience to sea level rise, benefitting threatened wildlife and fisheries, and sequestering carbon. The property is within the 19,200-acre San Pablo Bay National Wildlife Refuge boundary, is adjacent to the 10,000-acre Napa-Sonoma Marsh Wildlife Area, and is surrounded by Sonoma Creek (an anadromous stream) and Second and Third Napa slough channels, all of which drain into San Pablo Bay.
