En 2012, Sonoma Land Trust adquiri\u00f3 una parcela no urbanizada de 14 acres situada justo enfrente del rancho Glen Oaks, junto a la autopista 12. Esta propiedad incluye bosques de robles y praderas de alta calidad, junto con un tramo del arroyo Stuart. Est\u00e1 a una parcela de conectarse a Stuart Creek Run y est\u00e1 conectada funcionalmente a Glen Oaks por el arroyo. <\/p>\n\n

Peque\u00f1o tama\u00f1o, gran impacto<\/h2>\n\n

Stuart Creek Hill es una de nuestras reservas m\u00e1s peque\u00f1as. En circunstancias normales, el elevado precio de compra de esta propiedad de 14 acres situada cerca de Glen Ellen, con valor como vivienda y\/o vi\u00f1edo, podr\u00eda haber disuadido al Land Trust de adquirirla. Sin embargo, con el inicio de nuestro trabajo sobre el corredor de fauna salvaje, esta propiedad destac\u00f3 como una pieza importante del rompecabezas porque, posey\u00e9ndola, podr\u00edamos controlar ambos lados de un puente bajo la transitada autopista 12 (al otro lado est\u00e1 nuestra Reserva del Rancho Glen Oaks<\/a>). El personal de la administraci\u00f3n sospechaba que el puente funcionaba como una de las pocas v\u00edas importantes para que los animales sortearan los peligros del tr\u00e1fico de la autopista 12. Tras dos a\u00f1os de seguimiento, descubrimos que, efectivamente, este paso subterr\u00e1neo del puente es el cruce de carretera m\u00e1s utilizado de la regi\u00f3n y es fundamental que siga si\u00e9ndolo. <\/p>\n\n
